About BIKEGG

Who is BIKEGG and where are you located?

BIKEGG is operated by MODA CHIC LLC, a US-registered company. Our address is 13635 E 104th Ave Unit 500, Commerce City, CO 80022. We are an online retailer of electric tricycles for adults — we are not a manufacturer. We source products from vetted suppliers, verify safety documentation, and handle all customer support directly.

Do you manufacture your own trikes?

No. We are a retailer, not a manufacturer. Every product we carry comes from suppliers whose safety documentation and certifications meet our standards. We keep our catalog small on purpose — we would rather carry four models we can stand behind than forty we cannot vouch for.

What is the difference between an electric trike and a regular e-bike?

An electric trike has three wheels instead of two. It stays upright on its own — you do not need to balance at stops or put your foot down. This makes it fundamentally more stable than a two-wheel e-bike, which is why many older adults and riders with balance concerns choose a trike. The trade-off is that trikes are wider, heavier, and handle corners differently than bikes.

Riding and Performance

Can my electric trike handle hills?

Our 750W models handle moderate neighborhood hills — up to about 10 to 12 percent grade — reasonably well. Steeper driveways or extended climbs will drain the battery faster and require you to shift to a lower gear and use more throttle. If you live in a very hilly area, we recommend our higher-capacity models. It also helps to shift to a lower gear before the hill starts, not halfway up.

How far can it go on one charge?

Real-world range for most of our models is 25 to 45 miles per charge on flat terrain with a moderate rider weight and mid-level assist. Several factors reduce range: hills, headwind, heavy cargo load, cold weather, and using full throttle the entire ride. The range figures on product pages reflect favorable conditions. We recommend testing your specific route on a shorter ride first to understand your actual range before committing to a longer trip.

Will it tip over on turns?

At normal riding speeds on flat ground, tipping is very unlikely. The risk increases at higher speeds on sharp turns, or when riding across a significant side slope. The practical rule: slow down before turns, not during them. Most new trike riders feel confident within one or two practice sessions. Many riders coming from two-wheel bikes are surprised at how quickly it starts to feel natural.

Is it difficult for a first-time trike rider?

The adjustment is small but real. Trikes do not lean into corners the way bikes do, and the wider stance takes some getting used to on narrow paths. Most riders feel comfortable within 15 to 30 minutes of practice in a quiet open area. We always recommend a short practice session in an empty parking lot before your first ride on a shared path or road.

What speed does it go?

Most of our models are Class 2 e-bikes with a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph. You can pedal beyond that under your own power, but the motor assist stops at 20 mph. Speed is displayed on the LCD screen at all times.

How much weight can it carry?

Rider weight capacity is typically 300 to 330 lbs depending on the model. Basket and cargo capacity varies — front baskets typically hold up to 20 lbs and rear baskets up to 75 lbs. Check the specific product page for the model you are considering. Do not exceed the listed limits as it affects braking and handling.

For Seniors and Riders With Mobility Concerns

Is an electric trike safe for seniors?

This is the most common question we receive, and the honest answer is: for many older adults, a trike is significantly safer than a two-wheel bike precisely because it does not require balance. The trike stays upright on its own at a stop. The low step-through frame means you do not have to swing your leg over a high crossbar. The electric assist means you can ride as far as you want without exhausting yourself. That said, if you have significant mobility limitations, we recommend starting at a very low speed setting in a quiet area before riding in traffic.

What if I have knee or hip problems?

Many of our customers ride specifically because knee or hip issues made a standard bike uncomfortable or unsafe. Setting your seat height correctly makes a meaningful difference — there should be a slight bend in your knee at the bottom of the pedal stroke. Using a lower pedal assist level also reduces the force you need to apply. If you are unsure whether a trike is appropriate for your specific condition, we recommend consulting your doctor before purchasing.

Can I use it instead of a mobility scooter?

Many customers do use our trikes as an alternative to mobility scooters, particularly for outdoor use on flat to moderately varied terrain. The key differences: a trike requires some pedaling ability (though the motor does most of the work), handles varied surfaces better than most scooters, and has a longer range. It is not a medical device and is not designed for indoor use or very tight spaces. If mobility assistance is a medical need, consult your healthcare provider about what is appropriate for your situation.

Storage, Transport, and RV Use

Does it fold? Can I put it in my car or RV?

Our folding models do fold, typically to approximately 45 by 32 by 27 inches when folded. Weight ranges from about 65 to 90 lbs depending on the model — most people need a second person or a ramp to load it into a vehicle. Most customers use a truck bed, cargo van, or large SUV. We strongly recommend measuring your cargo space before purchasing. Not all SUVs can fit a folded trike flat.

Is it good for RV camping trips?

Yes — this is one of our most popular use cases. Many customers park their RV and use the trike to explore the campground, ride to the camp store, reach a lake or fishing spot, or just get some fresh air without driving. Most folding models fit in a truck bed or large cargo compartment. A carrying ramp makes loading much easier and is worth purchasing separately if you plan to do this regularly.

How do I store it at home?

A standard garage works well. Folding models can be stored more compactly. Keep the trike out of extended direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature conditions. Store the battery indoors at room temperature if you will not be riding for more than a few weeks — this extends battery life significantly.

Ordering and Shipping

Where do you ship?

We ship to the contiguous United States only — the 48 connected states. We do not currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, military addresses, or internationally. All orders ship from our US fulfillment warehouse, so there are no import duties or customs delays.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. After dispatch, estimated transit time is 7 to 9 business days. Total estimated time from order placement to delivery is 8 to 12 business days. You will receive a tracking number by email once your order ships. See our Shipping Policy for full details.

Is shipping free?

Yes. We offer free standard shipping on all orders to the contiguous United States with no minimum order value and no hidden fees at checkout.

Where does my order ship from?

All orders ship from our US-based fulfillment warehouse. Because your trike ships domestically, there are no customs delays, no import duties, and no surprise fees at delivery.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

Inspect the outer packaging at delivery before signing. If you see visible damage, note it on the carrier's delivery receipt. Then email us at support@bikegg.com within 48 hours with your order number and photos of the damage. We will arrange a replacement part, full replacement, or refund depending on the extent of the issue. See our Returns and Refunds Policy for full details.

Returns and Warranty

What is your return policy?

We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for items in original, unused condition with all original packaging and accessories included. Contact us before shipping anything back — returns without prior authorization cannot be processed. See our Returns and Refunds Policy for the full process and eligibility requirements.

Who pays for return shipping?

If the item arrived damaged or we shipped the wrong model, we cover return shipping. For change-of-mind returns, return shipping is the customer's responsibility. We do not charge a restocking fee.

What does the warranty cover?

All electric tricycles come with a 1-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in the frame, motor, controller, battery, LCD display, throttle, charger, and wiring harness. Normal wear and tear, damage from accidents or misuse, and cosmetic damage are not covered. See our Warranty Information page for full details.

How do warranty repairs work?

In most cases, we resolve warranty issues by shipping you a replacement component directly. Most of our parts are plug-and-swap modular units — no specialized tools required. If the issue is more complex, we provide video support guidance. You rarely need to ship the entire trike back. Email us at support@bikegg.com with your order number, a description of the issue, and photos or a short video.

Assembly and Maintenance

How much assembly is required?

Your trike ships partially assembled. The main frame, rear axle, motor, battery, and drivetrain are pre-assembled at our fulfillment center. You will need to attach the front wheel, handlebars, seat post, pedals, front basket (if included), front brake cable, and LCD display. Most customers complete this in 30 to 60 minutes using the tools included in the box. A full printed manual is included. See our Assembly Guide for a step-by-step overview.

Can I get assembly video help?

Yes. Email us at support@bikegg.com with your order number and model name and we will send you a link to the video walkthrough for your specific model.

Do you offer assembly services?

We do not offer in-person assembly services. However, our support team can walk you through any step by email or video guidance. Most customers find the assembly straightforward with the included manual and tools.

Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept PayPal. You can pay using your PayPal account balance, or with a credit card, debit card, or bank account through PayPal's guest checkout — no PayPal account is required. See our Payment Methods and Security page for full details.

Is it safe to pay on your site?

Yes. All transactions are processed through PayPal's secure platform using SSL and TLS encryption. We do not store your card number or banking credentials on our servers. You will see HTTPS and a padlock icon in your browser throughout checkout.
